2018 Ohio Challenger Jamboree - July 27 - 29 at Mason Heritage Oak Park - call for volunteers

Mason Challenger Little League is hosting the 26th annual Ohio Challenger Jamboree on July 27, 28 and 29. Mason Challenger program is part of the Challenger Division of Little League for youth with physical and developmental challenges, helping them to enjoy the full benefits of Little League participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities. Challenger athletes can play with the same equipment on the same fields, while experiencing the joys of pulling together as a team, being cheered, and earning awards for their achievements.

The Jamboree concept started 25 years ago to provide an opportunity for athletes with special needs to participate in a tournament style event. In the past 25 years, the Jamboree has grown to over 40 teams with approximately 450 athletes and over 1500 family and friends.

With such a large event, there is a need for volunteers to make this a memorable experience for all involved. We are looking for the following volunteer types.

  1. Baseball Generals. They will be assigned to a team during a game. They will welcome teams to the field. Help keep the game on time. Be a contact if we need to have any of our Committee Staff come to a field. We would like volunteers to be at least 14 years of age or older. You will see that up to 4 volunteers can sign up together on the same field.

2. Volunteers during the game at different areas and at our evening event (indoors and air conditioned). We have some shifts still open for various opportunities to volunteer. Great for families, high school volunteer hours, etc!
